It's Sunday. Imagine your younger self walking into the kitchen. You see your mom is getting ready things ready for the day. She looks at you, you have the opportunity to ask whatever you want for that day. She is an excellent cook.
You ask her "Amma make me Mac and Cheese" coz you are worried about her provisions and her help etc. etc....
She makes your lunch. You are just ok with the food prepared. She asks "Are you happy with the lunch today? Is your tummy upset? Why did u ask for such simple meal. I went shopping to give you a feast. Fish is in the freezer. I might have to cook chicken" and she goes on and on.
Our ALMIGHTY GOD is at our service. HE is Ebenezer. What we do. How do we articulate our needs and help from GOD.
We often not specific with our asks.
We are so self-righteous and such a self-critic that we think we cant ask certain things coz we don't deserve.
We doubt HIS grace and love for us.
We ask with a room for disappointment. "If I don't receive it, I should be prepared to face it."
- "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you"
If we have any of the above thoughts, it is time to check our relationship with GOD, revisit the qualities and attributes of GOD, submit our concerns at HIS feet, lift our voice in worship.
- "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"
GOD ALMIGHTY is a powerful and all knowing GOD.
Thru HIS Son Jesus Christ we have the ability to contact him.
So, lets not decide what GOD should give us. Let us just be clear about our Asks - big or small.
- "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"
